General Supervisor, Stewardship

Stewardship supports the stewardship program of the university. Develops, implements, and supports the internal policy and process for stewarding donors for life, ensuring funds are used for purposes designated by donors. Creates and participates in new and innovative ways to build meaningful relationships with donors.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.

Position Summary

The General Supervisor in Stewardship is responsible for overseeing a team that supports the university’s stewardship efforts, ensuring that donor funds are used according to their intended purpose and that donors are appropriately acknowledged. This role involves coordinating the daily operations of the stewardship team, managing schedules and workflows, and ensuring efficient execution of stewardship activities. The supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the team meets its goals and standards, providing guidance and support to staff while fostering an environment that promotes strong donor relations. In addition to supervising team members, the General Supervisor works to implement and maintain stewardship processes, ensuring that all donor interactions are handled professionally and consistently. They are responsible for the training, development, and evaluation of staff, making sure that team members are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to carry out their responsibilities. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as the supervisor will be directly accountable for the effectiveness of the team in executing stewardship strategies that enhance donor retention and engagement for the university.
