Alumni/Student Engagement is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of alumni events, volunteer activities and partnerships with alumni clubs and societies. Engages and supports alumni governance bodies including boards and councils. Develops, conducts, and promotes alumni programs and services to constituents including reunions, travel and tours, speakers, and general activities to enhance involvement opportunities across the alumni network.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Executive for Alumni/Student Engagement plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies for engaging the university's alumni and students. This position is responsible for overseeing alumni relations activities, including the planning and execution of events, volunteer initiatives, and partnerships with alumni clubs, societies, and corporations. The Associate Executive works closely with alumni governance bodies, including boards and councils, to enhance alumni involvement and foster long-term relationships. The role involves leading initiatives such as reunions, travel programs, and speaker events that promote alumni engagement and strengthen the alumni network. As a senior-level executive, the Associate Executive is accountable for the successful implementation of the university’s alumni and student engagement goals. This includes providing strategic direction, managing a team of directors and managers, and ensuring the alignment of all engagement activities with the broader university mission. The position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across the university. The Associate Executive is also responsible for recommending and approving policies related to alumni and student engagement, ensuring that all efforts contribute to advancing the university's overall objectives.
