General Supervisor, Alumni/Student Engagement

Alumni/Student Engagement
Alumni/Student Engagement is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of alumni events, volunteer activities and partnerships with alumni clubs and societies. Engages and supports alumni governance bodies including boards and councils. Develops, conducts, and promotes alumni programs and services to constituents including reunions, travel and tours, speakers, and general activities to enhance involvement opportunities across the alumni network.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.

Position Summary

The General Supervisor for Alumni/Student Engagement is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of alumni engagement activities within the university. This role supervises a team of administrative and support staff, ensuring that alumni events, volunteer activities, and partnerships with alumni clubs and societies are executed effectively. The supervisor plays a key role in managing schedules, workflow, and ensuring that team members are adequately trained and oriented to perform their tasks. They also ensure that the department’s objectives align with the university’s broader goals for alumni relations and engagement. As a front-line manager, the General Supervisor will provide guidance and support to team members, monitor performance, and contribute to the development of long-term strategies for alumni engagement. They are accountable for the successful completion of alumni-focused activities, such as reunions, travel tours, and speaker events, and will help troubleshoot issues as they arise. The supervisor ensures that all events and programs are executed on time and within budget, maintaining high standards for quality and effectiveness. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with various departments to achieve goals.
