General Manager, Corporate Engagement

Corporate Engagement initiates, cultivates, and expands corporate relationships to further the mission of the university, enhance public visibility, and achieve other objectives including placement opportunities for students, joint development activities, corporate philanthropy, sponsored research, affinity, and technology transfer.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Manager: Responsible for leading a team of professionals and/or support employees. Has full responsibility for team output. Focuses on implementing and executing strategies within their own department or team.

Position Summary

The General Manager for Corporate Engagement is responsible for leading a team focused on establishing, cultivating, and expanding corporate partnerships to support the university's mission and strategic goals. This role includes overseeing the development and execution of corporate engagement strategies, including student placement opportunities, sponsored research, corporate philanthropy, and technology transfer. The General Manager works closely with senior leadership to ensure that corporate relationships align with the university's overall advancement objectives, while also enhancing public visibility and reputation. In addition to managing a team of professionals, the General Manager has full accountability for the productivity and performance of the department. This includes setting and tracking goals, resource allocation, and ensuring that initiatives are implemented effectively. The General Manager will also be involved in overseeing the stewardship of corporate relationships to maintain long-term partnerships and ensure that the university maximizes its opportunities for collaboration, sponsorships, and research partnerships. By providing strategic direction and leadership, the General Manager plays a key role in advancing the university's engagement with the corporate sector.
