General Director, Corporate Engagement

Corporate Engagement
Corporate Engagement initiates, cultivates, and expands corporate relationships to further the mission of the university, enhance public visibility, and achieve other objectives including placement opportunities for students, joint development activities, corporate philanthropy, sponsored research, affinity, and technology transfer.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 3
Director: Directs and controls the activities of multiple university units or leads a team of professionals with significant university wide impact. Typically has indirect reports. In charge of overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, etc. for the unit. Collaborates with executive leadership on establishing strategic goals across the function.

Position Summary

The General Director for Corporate Engagement is responsible for the strategic oversight and leadership of corporate relationships that align with the university’s mission and long-term objectives. This role involves directing a team to initiate, cultivate, and expand corporate partnerships that support key initiatives such as student placement opportunities, joint development activities, corporate philanthropy, and sponsored research. The General Director ensures that these partnerships contribute to enhancing the university's public visibility and achieving institutional goals, while also fostering sustainable and impactful collaborations across the corporate sector. In addition to leading corporate engagement efforts, the General Director is accountable for overseeing multiple units within the department, including planning, staffing, and budgeting. This role requires close collaboration with senior leadership to set strategic goals and ensure that resources are effectively utilized to drive successful outcomes. The General Director also plays a critical role in shaping the long-term direction of corporate engagement efforts, ensuring alignment with the university's broader advancement strategy, and overseeing the stewardship of corporate relationships to maximize impact and opportunities for collaboration.
