Leadership Gifts identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership gifts from critical, high-profile prospects/donors. Designs and implements strategic fundraising plans through collaboration for academic units, regional campuses, and complex markets. Typically manages a portfolio of approximately 250 prospects and gift solicitations of less than $100,000.

Position Summary

The Associate Development Specialist for Leadership Gifts plays a critical role in supporting the university’s fundraising efforts by managing a portfolio of leadership gift prospects, typically focusing on gifts under $100,000. In this individual contributor role, the associate works closely with senior development staff to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-potential donors. This position involves the creation and implementation of strategic fundraising plans for academic units, regional campuses, and targeted market segments, ensuring alignment with the university’s fundraising goals. The Associate Development Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of around 250 prospects, utilizing a range of communication strategies to engage and steward these donors. The role also involves tracking donor activity, preparing solicitations, and providing detailed reporting on progress and outcomes. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, an understanding of fundraising best practices, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve fundraising success.
