Major Gifts identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from critical, high-profile prospects/donors. Designs and implements strategic fundraising plans through collaboration for academic units, regional campuses, and complex markets. Typically manages a portfolio of approximately 100 prospects and gift solicitations of $100,000 to $5,000,000.

Position Summary

The Associate Development Specialist for Major Gifts supports the university’s fundraising efforts by assisting in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts from high-profile prospects and donors. This entry-level position is responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 100 prospects, with gift solicitations ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000. The Associate Development Specialist collaborates with academic units, regional campuses, and other complex markets to design and implement strategic fundraising plans that align with the university’s goals. They will help in organizing events, communicating with donors, and tracking progress toward major gift objectives. In this role, the Associate Development Specialist will gain valuable hands-on experience in major gift fundraising, working closely with senior development staff to execute key initiatives. This includes assisting with donor outreach, stewardship activities, and supporting the broader development team in achieving its fundraising goals.
