Principal Partnerships develops partnerships with individuals, groups, and companies to encourage additional gifts to the university.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Position Summary

The General Manager for Principal Partnerships is responsible for leading the university’s strategic efforts to develop and strengthen high-impact partnerships with individuals, groups, and corporations. This role focuses on fostering collaborative relationships that drive significant philanthropic contributions, align with institutional priorities, and create mutually beneficial outcomes for both the university and its partners. By directing a team of professionals, the General Manager ensures the successful implementation of initiatives designed to cultivate, solicit, and steward principal-level partnerships. This position oversees the planning and execution of innovative engagement strategies, provides administrative leadership, and manages resources to achieve departmental and institutional goals. The General Manager ensures team effectiveness by mentoring staff, evaluating performance, and fostering a results-driven culture. Through strategic vision and operational excellence, this role enhances the university's capacity to secure transformative partnerships, advancing its mission and impact on a global scale.
