Associate General Coordinator, Extension

Extension provides leadership in determining, implementing, and evaluating educational programs which are designed to solve social, economic, and environmental problems in agriculture and natural resources. The agent is an educator, an information provider, a needs assessor, a problem-solving resource for clientele, and networks with the agricultural industry, specialists, extension agents, and agency representatives.

Position Summary

The Associate General Coordinator within Extension plays an essential role in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of educational programs that address the social, economic, and environmental challenges facing agriculture and natural resources. This position involves assisting with the design and implementation of outreach initiatives that provide practical solutions to local communities, educators, and industry professionals. By leveraging knowledge from the agricultural sector, the coordinator ensures that Extension programs are aligned with the needs of both urban and rural populations, working to enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of agriculture-related operations. In this role, the Associate General Coordinator works closely with faculty, agricultural specialists, and other extension agents to provide educational resources and support to target audiences. The position requires strong collaboration skills as the coordinator actively contributes to program development, manages scheduling and logistics for educational events, and ensures the timely distribution of relevant information to stakeholders. Additionally, they are responsible for collecting and analyzing feedback to evaluate the impact of programs, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations for future initiatives. As an individual contributor, the Associate General Coordinator is expected to work independently with guidance and support from senior staff members. The position requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as the coordinator needs to adapt to evolving challenges in the agriculture sector while maintaining strong communication with internal and external partners. By contributing to Extension’s mission, the coordinator helps expand educational outreach and creates lasting value for communities, enhancing the overall success of agricultural and environmental programs within the institution.
