Position Summary

The Associate Analyst within Plant and Environmental Sciences supports the university’s education and research missions by assisting with projects that promote sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship. Working within the broader Agriculture and Life Sciences division, this entry-level professional contributes to programs focused on plant biology, soil science, ecology, applied genetics, and biotechnology. The role plays a supporting part in advancing knowledge that enhances crop and soil productivity while protecting natural ecosystems. Under the guidance of more experienced staff or faculty researchers, the Associate Analyst assists in the collection, processing, and analysis of environmental and agricultural data. Responsibilities may include helping prepare field and laboratory experiments, maintaining research equipment, recording observations, and organizing data for reporting. The position may also support greenhouse or field operations, ensuring accurate setup and monitoring of research trials. Tasks are performed in accordance with established protocols, with an emphasis on learning and developing professional competencies. As an entry-level individual contributor, the Associate Analyst is expected to demonstrate foundational knowledge in environmental or plant sciences and a willingness to build technical skills and scientific understanding through hands-on experience. The position provides an opportunity to grow within a research-focused environment and gain familiarity with academic processes that support innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture and ecosystem management.
