General Supervisor, Equipment & Maintenance

Equipment & Maintenance
Equipment Maintenance is responsible for athletic equipment and facilities. Tasks may include keeping equipment inventory records, providing athletic uniform laundry service, monitoring equipment conditions, repairing equipment, and purchasing new equipment.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.

This role involves supervising tasks such as inventory management, equipment repairs, uniform laundering, and the procurement of new equipment to support athletic programs. The supervisor is responsible for coordinating team schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring workflow to ensure operational goals are met effectively. In addition to directing the work of experienced team members, the General Supervisor provides training and orientation to new employees, fostering a knowledgeable and cohesive workforce. The role emphasizes problem-solving and adaptability, as the supervisor addresses operational challenges and ensures compliance with university and athletic department policies. By maintaining clear communication and prioritizing team productivity, the General Supervisor contributes to a well-functioning athletics operations environment that supports student-athletes and enhances the overall university experience.
