Position Summary

The Academic Supervisor for Athletics plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the academic support services for student-athletes. This position is responsible for supervising a team of academic advisors and support staff, ensuring that student-athletes receive the academic resources and guidance necessary to maintain eligibility and succeed in their coursework. The Academic Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of academic advising for student-athletes, including coordinating schedules, tracking academic progress, and implementing interventions when necessary. Additionally, this role will focus on training and developing the academic advising team, ensuring that all staff are well-equipped to support the unique needs of student-athletes. As a leader within the Athletics department, The Academic Supervisor for Athletics will also collaborate with coaches, faculty, and administrators to ensure effective communication and the alignment of academic and athletic goals. This position involves setting performance expectations for the academic team, conducting evaluations, and making recommendations for hiring, training, and possible disciplinary actions. The Academic Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining records related to student-athlete academic performance and eligibility, ensuring compliance with NCAA or institutional regulations. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while fostering an environment of academic success for student-athletes.
