Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Position Summary

The Academic Manager for Athletics is responsible for overseeing the academic services provided to student-athletes, ensuring their academic success and eligibility. This role involves managing a team of academic advisors and support staff who assist student-athletes with their academic progress, tutoring, and study skills. The Academic Manager will work closely with faculty, coaches, and athletics administration to monitor the academic performance of student-athletes, while developing strategies to support their academic and athletic balance. This includes implementing academic programs that align with institutional goals and NCAA compliance requirements. In this managerial position, the Academic Manager will have full oversight of the department's operations, including setting goals, managing resources, and ensuring efficient workflows. They will provide leadership, conduct staff evaluations, and implement training and development plans for academic advisors. The position requires the manager to make strategic decisions, monitor team performance, and address any challenges related to student-athlete academic support. The Academic Manager will also collaborate with other departments to provide a seamless experience for student-athletes, ensuring they receive the resources they need to succeed academically while participating in athletic programs.
