Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Director: Directs and controls the activities of multiple university units or leads a team of professionals with significant university wide impact. Typically has indirect reports. Position Summary

The Academic Director for Athletics is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the academic services and programs that support the success of student-athletes. This position provides strategic direction and management of multiple units or teams dedicated to fostering academic achievement, NCAA compliance, and the overall academic experience of student-athletes. The director collaborates with executive leadership, faculty, athletics staff, and external stakeholders to establish and implement academic strategies that align with institutional goals while maintaining NCAA and university standards. In this role, the Academic Director is accountable for long-term planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance evaluation across the academic support function. They lead the development of innovative programs and initiatives to enhance academic outcomes for student-athletes, ensuring resources are effectively utilized to meet their unique needs. By managing and mentoring a team of professionals, the director ensures the highest standards of academic integrity, support, and service delivery, contributing to the overall success of the athletics program.
