General Manager, Student Athlete Services

Student Athlete Services supports student athletes, coaches, and others who work closely with student athletes. Duties will also include the management of programs that support student athletes.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Manager: Responsible for leading a team of professionals and/or support employees. Has full responsibility for team output. Focuses on implementing and executing strategies within their own department or team.
G - General Administration

Position Summary

The General Manager within Student Athlete Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of programs and administrative functions that support the success and well-being of student-athletes. Positioned within the General Administration track, this role is responsible for managing non-student-facing services such as compliance coordination, academic support logistics, wellness initiatives, and eligibility tracking. The manager works closely with athletic administrators, coaches, and campus partners to ensure services are effectively aligned with institutional policies and NCAA regulations, while promoting a positive and supportive experience for student-athletes. This managerial position leads a team of professional and/or support staff, overseeing daily operations, setting departmental goals, and ensuring accountability for team performance and outcomes. The General Manager is responsible for the full scope of personnel management, including hiring decisions, training, performance evaluations, and professional development. They also oversee the implementation of departmental strategies, monitor budgets and resources, and ensure operational procedures are followed to maintain compliance and efficiency across student athlete support programs. Through effective leadership and resource management, the General Manager plays a central role in fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and student-centered service within the athletics environment. By ensuring that administrative systems and support programs function efficiently, this position directly contributes to the academic achievement, athletic success, and personal development of student-athletes. The role upholds the university’s mission to deliver a holistic student-athlete experience grounded in strong administrative practices and a commitment to overall student success.
