Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Technical Executive for Data Analytics plays a critical leadership role in advancing the strategic planning and operational effectiveness of the university through data-driven decision-making. Positioned within Business Operations and Administration, this role provides executive oversight for the collection, organization, interpretation, and reporting of complex data sets that inform strategic initiatives, policy development, and operational enhancements across colleges and units. The role supports university-wide efforts by ensuring analytics capabilities align with institutional goals and deliver insights that improve performance and resource utilization. As an executive within the Data Analytics functional area, this position is responsible for guiding multiple cross-disciplinary teams, including directors and managers who lead reporting, analytics, and project management functions. The Associate Technical Executive develops and disseminates strategic objectives, ensures those objectives are embedded in operational practices, and establishes policies and standards for analytics work across units. This role plays a key part in integrating data analytics into business planning cycles, helping translate institutional priorities into measurable outcomes through advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and business intelligence solutions. At the E1 career track level, the Associate Technical Executive is accountable for the successful execution of annual goals across a university-wide sub-function. This includes setting direction for analytics strategy, resource planning, and performance evaluation, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. The role requires strong collaboration with academic, administrative, and technology leaders to ensure analytics initiatives support long-term institutional development. Decisions and initiatives led by this position have a direct and substantial impact on the university’s ability to achieve its mission through informed, strategic action.
