Position Summary

The Technical Supervisor in Data Analytics plays a key role in supporting the strategic planning and operational functions of colleges and administrative units by overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. This position is part of the Business Operations and Administration team and ensures that high-quality reporting and analytics are delivered to inform decision-making, assess performance, and support institutional goals. The supervisor ensures that data analytics activities align with broader university objectives and contribute to effective project execution and long-term strategic initiatives. Functioning within the Technical/STEM job family, this role supervises a team of experienced technical staff engaged in data management, statistical analysis, and the development of dashboards and reports. The Technical Supervisor coordinates workflows, sets priorities, and manages day-to-day operations to ensure the timely and accurate completion of data-driven projects. They are responsible for onboarding and training team members, promoting adherence to data standards and best practices, and fostering an environment that values accuracy, innovation, and collaboration. At the M1 managerial level, the Technical Supervisor holds direct accountability for the performance and productivity of their team. This includes conducting performance evaluations, making staffing recommendations, addressing disciplinary matters, and supporting the professional development of staff. The supervisor plays a pivotal role in translating strategic data needs into actionable tasks for the team, ensuring deliverables meet institutional standards and support critical planning, assessment, and operational functions across the university.
