Position Summary

The Technical Director in Data Analytics serves as a senior leader within Business Operations and Administration, overseeing the strategic direction, planning, and execution of university-wide analytics initiatives. This role is responsible for driving the development and implementation of data strategies that support institutional planning, resource allocation, and performance improvement across colleges and administrative units. The director ensures that analytics and reporting capabilities are aligned with the university’s strategic objectives and serve as a foundation for evidence-based decision-making. As part of the Technical/STEM job family, the Technical Director leads multiple teams or units engaged in data collection, statistical analysis, data visualization, and business intelligence development. This role manages high-level planning for staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring the successful delivery of analytics solutions at scale. The director oversees the integration of advanced technologies and methodologies, promotes data governance and quality standards, and fosters innovation in how data is used to support complex institutional challenges. Operating at the M3 Director level, this position collaborates closely with executive leadership to define and execute long-term goals for data analytics across the institution. The Technical Director provides leadership to both direct and indirect reports, setting priorities and ensuring high performance across diverse teams. This role also represents the analytics function in university-wide planning efforts, advising senior stakeholders and contributing to cross-functional initiatives. By championing a data-informed culture and aligning analytics operations with institutional goals, the Technical Director plays a critical role in shaping the university’s strategic direction and operational excellence.
