Sponsored Agreement Management
Sponsored Agreement Management is responsible for grants, contracts, subcontracts, and other agreements between a sponsor and the university for the purpose of conducting research, instruction, training, and other activities at the university, or funding the compensation of university staff.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 3
Director: Directs and controls the activities of multiple university units or leads a team of professionals with significant university wide impact. Typically has indirect reports. In charge of overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, etc. for the unit. Collaborates with executive leadership on establishing strategic goals across the function.

Position Summary

The General Director for Sponsored Agreement Management is responsible for overseeing and directing the full scope of sponsored agreements, including grants, contracts, and subcontracts that support the university’s research, instructional, and training activities. This role leads multiple teams within Sponsored Agreement Management, ensuring that all agreements are properly negotiated, executed, and compliant with both sponsor requirements and university policies. The General Director is responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, and ensuring the efficient execution of agreements that impact the university’s academic and research missions. As a senior leader, the General Director collaborates with executive leadership to set and execute strategic goals, driving improvements and innovations within sponsored agreement processes. This includes overseeing the development of policies and procedures, ensuring financial and legal compliance, and providing leadership and mentorship to staff. The role requires close coordination with other university units to align sponsored agreement efforts with institutional goals, as well as budgetary and staffing responsibilities. Through effective management and leadership, the General Director will help optimize the university’s sponsored research portfolio, promoting growth and excellence across a wide range of academic and research activities.
