Academic Supervisor, International Affairs

International Affairs
International Affairs is responsible for serving the universitys international community, providing interpretation, and counseling to international students, employees and campus partners on visas and immigration laws, governmental regulations affecting immigration, social security, consular processing, and other statutory and regulatory rules to ensure compliance. May advise and provide counseling to students and others on matters pertaining to cross-cultural adjustment, academic, and financial concerns.

Position Summary

The Academic Supervisor within International Affairs oversees a team of professionals responsible for providing services and support to the university's international community. This role involves coordinating the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring efficient workflows, and maintaining a high standard of service to international students, employees, and campus partners. The supervisor is responsible for scheduling, delegating tasks, and managing the overall operations related to visas, immigration laws, consular processing, and other international procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory rules. In addition to overseeing administrative functions, the Academic Supervisor provides guidance and training to staff members. This includes mentoring team members, evaluating performance, and fostering professional development to ensure the team remains knowledgeable about changes in immigration policies, cultural adjustment processes, and the academic and financial concerns of international students. The supervisor also plays an essential role in resolving complex issues or concerns raised by students, staff, and faculty regarding international affairs and helps facilitate smooth communication between all parties involved. The supervisor works closely with senior leadership to implement strategic initiatives aimed at improving the overall experience for international students and faculty. This includes contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and programs that enhance cross-cultural adjustment and academic success. The supervisor ensures that the team aligns with the broader goals of International Affairs and works to improve the services provided while ensuring compliance with all relevant immigration and academic regulations. Through effective leadership, the Academic Supervisor contributes to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for international students and staff at the university.
