Operations
Operations is responsible for cross-functional management and administration of an organizations resources, including but not limited to finance, processes and operations, human capital, facilities, equipment, systems, and communication. Conducts the daily operations of an organizational or academic unit, which may include budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Business operations professionals gather and analyze data to construct key performance indicators to monitor and improve performance and reinforce strategic decision making.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Executive: Has senior-level leadership responsibilities for major unit operations. Establishes and implements policies, procedures, programs, fiscal authority, and operational autonomy. Leads department heads, chairs, school directors, directors, senior managers, and managers. Scope of responsibility is university wide for an overall college or business unit.

Position Summary

The General Executive of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the university’s operational functions across multiple departments and units. This role encompasses the management and administration of resources, including finance, human capital, facilities, equipment, systems, and communication, ensuring that operations align with the university’s overarching strategic goals. The Executive plays a key role in shaping and driving the operational framework that supports the day-to-day functions of the institution while also contributing to long-term planning and resource allocation. This position provides executive leadership across the university’s operations, with direct responsibility for setting policies, procedures, and programs that influence the efficiency and effectiveness of university-wide operations. The General Executive of Operations is accountable for establishing fiscal authority, managing budgets, forecasting, and financial modeling, as well as overseeing the development and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve organizational performance. The Executive will lead department heads, senior managers, and other senior staff, ensuring that operational activities are executed in a way that supports the university’s academic, administrative, and financial goals. This role also entails close collaboration with other senior executives to ensure the alignment of operational strategy with institutional priorities and to reinforce the university's strategic decision-making processes. A key component of this role is driving continuous improvement in operations through innovation, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration. The General Executive of Operations must possess advanced leadership skills, a deep understanding of business operations, and the ability to influence the university’s success by ensuring that resources are optimized and operational goals are met. This executive position has a university-wide impact and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the institution’s operations, with a significant influence on the overall development and success of the university.
