Position Summary

The Associate General Coordinator of Special Events is an entry-level individual contributor position responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events that support the university’s engagement and community-building goals. This role is primarily focused on executing a variety of events designed to enhance the university's presence, foster relationships, and promote its mission through well-organized and impactful experiences. Key responsibilities include coordinating logistics for events, managing vendor relationships, assisting in the development of event materials, and ensuring all event details are executed smoothly. The Associate Coordinator will assist in various phases of event planning, from ideation to post-event evaluation, and will be responsible for maintaining schedules, tracking budgets, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure event objectives are met. In addition to event execution, the Associate General Coordinator will collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure alignment of events with university priorities, brand standards, and overall engagement strategies. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to a variety of events, ranging from large-scale functions to more intimate gatherings, with an emphasis on enhancing the overall experience for attendees. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks. While this is an entry-level position, the Associate General Coordinator of Special Events is expected to demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable events that foster community and engagement.
