Strategic Planning enhances organizational growth and sustainability through strategic investments in services provided to students, employees, and other stakeholders. May recommend investments in equipment, facilities, or human capital. Strategic planners understand and shape the organizations strategy and mission and support leaders in facilitating associated communications and processes.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Executive: Has senior-level leadership responsibilities for major unit operations. Establishes and implements policies, procedures, programs, fiscal authority, and operational autonomy. Leads department heads, chairs, school directors, directors, senior managers, and managers. Scope of responsibility is university wide for an overall college or business unit.
G - General Administration

Position Summary

The Executive within Strategic Planning is a senior-level leadership position responsible for the overall strategic direction and operations of major units within the organization. Operating under Business Operations and Administration, this role oversees the strategic planning, analysis, and ongoing operations across colleges and units, ensuring that the strategic goals and objectives are effectively implemented and aligned with the university’s mission. The Executive provides high-level reporting and analytics support, using these insights to inform key decisions and drive the success of business operations. In Strategic Planning, the Executive plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s growth and sustainability by recommending and overseeing investments in critical areas such as services, equipment, facilities, and human capital. They work closely with other senior leaders to shape and communicate the organization’s strategy, ensuring it is successfully operationalized across the institution. As a Level 2 Executive, this position holds significant authority and responsibility, overseeing the development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs, and fiscal management within a major college or business unit. The Executive is responsible for managing a wide range of senior leadership, including department heads, directors, senior managers, and managers, and ensuring that all efforts are aligned with the university’s strategic goals. Their decisions have a broad, university-wide impact, directly influencing the success and long-term development of the institution. This role contributes to the highest-level leadership panels and teams, ensuring that the university’s strategy is executed with operational excellence.
