Faculty Administration supports and manages a broad range of academic processes, including curriculum development, evaluating and supporting instructional quality, and assessing the performance and advancement of faculty.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Academic Executive within Faculty Administration is responsible for overseeing the execution of academic processes related to curriculum development, faculty performance, and instructional quality across the university. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the academic objectives and goals of the faculty are achieved by developing and operationalizing strategies that align with the university's broader mission. The Associate Executive is accountable for the annual execution of goals and objectives within their area of responsibility and ensures that these goals are effectively communicated and carried out by their direct reports, which typically include multiple directors and managers. In addition, the Academic Associate Executive helps shape academic policies and procedures, recommending and sometimes approving them to improve faculty administration operations. With a university-wide scope of responsibility, this role ensures the smooth integration of multiple disciplines and functions within the college or business unit, while also contributing to the university’s success by influencing high-level strategic decisions and outcomes. By overseeing the operational and functional control of faculty administration activities, the Associate Executive ensures that academic initiatives are executed efficiently, driving improvements in faculty support, evaluation, and development.
