Senior General Coordinator, Accounting

Accounting
Accounting properly records the organizations financial transactions, assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts. Significant emphasis on creation of financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows with the corresponding supporting schedules. Provides financial and operational reports and analytics and may act as subject matter expert for system implementations.

Position Summary

The Senior General Coordinator within Accounting is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the university’s accounting functions, ensuring the accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role includes managing and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and providing detailed supporting schedules. The Senior General Coordinator plays a key role in providing financial and operational reports and conducting analyses to support the university's financial decision-making. In this individual contributor role, the Senior General Coordinator works independently, leveraging their expertise to influence and review accounting processes while coordinating with other teams to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting. The role may involve leading certain accounting initiatives, assisting in system implementations, and acting as a subject matter expert in areas related to accounting practices and financial systems. The position requires a high level of experience and education, with a strong focus on maintaining the integrity of the university’s financial records, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations. The Senior General Coordinator collaborates with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, contributing to the overall fiscal health and strategic planning of the university.
