Budgeting prepares, plans, compiles, and reviews the budgets for university departments, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income. Prepares reports for the comparison between the current situation and budgeted forecast. Maintains accurate spending records and establishes measures for budgetary control. Analyzes budget requirements for specific projects or departments encompassing short-term or long-term time periods.

Position Summary

The Associate General Coordinator within Budgeting is an entry-level professional position within the university’s Finance department. This role supports the budgeting process by assisting in the preparation, planning, and review of departmental budgets. The Associate General Coordinator works to ensure budgets are aligned with the university’s financial objectives and reflects actual performance, historical expenditures, and projected income and expenses. Responsibilities include assisting with the compilation of budget reports, analyzing budgetary requirements for specific projects or departments, and maintaining accurate spending records. The Associate General Coordinator will also prepare reports comparing actual financial performance with budgeted forecasts, helping to identify areas of discrepancy and recommend corrective actions when necessary. This role requires a foundational understanding of budgeting principles, financial forecasting, and reporting. The Associate General Coordinator will collaborate with other members of the Finance team and various departments to ensure that budgetary control measures are in place and operating effectively. The position demands attention to detail and a strong ability to support the financial decision-making process through data analysis. As an individual contributor, the Associate General Coordinator will work under the guidance of senior team members, learning and developing skills in budget preparation, financial analysis, and resource allocation.
