Financial Planning and Analysis analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. Analyzes the financial implications of proposed investments or other transactions so that senior managers can evaluate alternatives against business objectives. Evaluates industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast short, medium, and long-term financial position. Data analyzed may include revenues, expenses, costs, prices, investments, cash flow, labor market trends, inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates.

Position Summary

The General Consultant within Financial Planning and Analysis plays a vital role in supporting the university’s financial strategy through high-level analysis, forecasting, and data interpretation. This position works within the Finance division to evaluate a wide range of financial and economic data, including revenues, expenses, investments, and market trends, to inform both strategic planning and day-to-day decision-making. The consultant is responsible for developing financial models and forecasts that project the university’s short-, medium-, and long-term financial position and ensure alignment with institutional goals and priorities. Operating with a high degree of independence, the General Consultant serves as a subject matter expert, offering data-driven recommendations that guide key business decisions. This role conducts scenario analyses for proposed investments, major initiatives, and other financial transactions to help senior leadership evaluate alternatives and optimize resource allocation. In addition, the consultant monitors macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, interest rates, and labor market trends, integrating these insights into financial planning efforts and risk assessments to support institutional resilience and adaptability. As an advanced individual contributor, the General Consultant may lead complex projects, collaborate across departments, and provide mentorship to junior analysts or team members. The role requires both technical expertise and strategic thinking, with an emphasis on delivering clear, actionable insights to internal stakeholders. Through expert analysis and proactive planning, the General Consultant supports the university’s financial health, enabling data-informed decisions that promote long-term sustainability and institutional success.
