General Coordinator, Compensation

Compensation designs, evaluates and administers the organizations compensation programs in the areas of merit pay, salary structure and range management, incentive plans, and job evaluation. Participates in external salary surveys, evaluates positions, and recommends appropriate salary range, creates and analyzes reports, and ensures compliance with federal and state pay regulations.

Position Summary

The General Coordinator within Compensation is an intermediate-level individual contributor responsible for supporting the administration and coordination of compensation programs and initiatives at the university. This role plays a key part in ensuring that the compensation strategies are effectively implemented, compliant with applicable regulations, and aligned with the university's objectives. In this role, the General Coordinator assists with a variety of tasks related to compensation programs, including merit pay, salary structure management, incentive plans, and job evaluations. They will support the evaluation of positions, participate in external salary surveys, and help analyze compensation data to ensure that pay practices are competitive, equitable, and in compliance with federal and state regulations. The General Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in the creation and analysis of compensation reports, and maintaining accurate compensation records. This position requires a solid understanding of compensation principles, attention to detail, and the ability to assist in the development and implementation of compensation strategies. While the General Coordinator works under the guidance of senior compensation professionals and managers, they are expected to coordinate and contribute to various compensation initiatives and projects. The role may involve research, data analysis, and collaboration with other departments to ensure that compensation programs meet the needs of the university and its employees. The General Coordinator will also support the communication and dissemination of compensation-related information, working to ensure that all employees and stakeholders understand the compensation policies and programs in place. While some level of autonomy is expected, this role is not typically responsible for making high-level decisions independently but instead provides critical support to the compensation team. Overall, the General Coordinator within Compensation plays an important role in the successful operation of the compensation function, contributing to fair, transparent, and effective compensation practices across the university.
