Senior General Coordinator, Employee Relations

Employee Relations coordinates employee relations programs to ensure compliance with policies and practices. Develops and implements policies and procedures in areas such as grievance procedures and exit interviews. Researches and partners with management to respond to employee concerns and grievances. Documents and maintains employee relations records.

Position Summary

The Senior General Coordinator within Employee Relations plays a key role in supporting a positive and compliant workplace environment by coordinating and implementing employee relations programs across the university. This position works within the Human Resources division to ensure alignment with institutional policies, legal requirements, and best practices. Responsibilities include researching and resolving employee concerns, assisting with the development and implementation of grievance procedures, conducting exit interviews, and maintaining thorough documentation of employee relations cases and initiatives. Acting independently and as a subject matter resource, the Senior General Coordinator collaborates closely with management, HR business partners, and other university stakeholders to support fair and consistent application of employee policies and procedures. The role involves analyzing trends in employee feedback and workplace issues to identify opportunities for proactive interventions and policy improvements. In complex or sensitive situations, the coordinator provides consultation and guidance to ensure both employees’ rights and institutional interests are appropriately balanced. As a senior-level individual contributor, the position may provide informal leadership to project teams or newer staff members, contributing to continuous improvement efforts in employee relations programming. The coordinator plays a vital part in maintaining a respectful and inclusive work environment, strengthening employee engagement, and supporting the overall effectiveness of the university’s human resources strategies.
