Human Resources designs and implements human resources programs and provides consultation to management on appropriate practices for recruitment and staffing, compensation, benefits, employee and labor relations, professional and organizational development, HR information systems, and other workplace aspects that impact the universitys employees.
Management / Leadership
Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.
G - General Administration
Roles that are in administrative/ professional non-student facing functions.

Position Summary

The General Supervisor within Human Resources is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team within the HR department, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and in accordance with organizational goals. This position supervises a group of administrative, operative, and/or technical employees, managing their schedules, workflows, and assignments. The supervisor ensures that the team is equipped to meet their objectives by coordinating tasks, providing training, and fostering a productive work environment. The role also involves providing guidance and support to team members, ensuring they receive proper orientation and ongoing training to enhance their performance. Additionally, the supervisor is accountable for monitoring the team's progress, addressing any issues or challenges that arise, and ensuring that team members follow established HR policies and procedures. The General Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that HR functions are executed smoothly and effectively, supporting the broader goals of the Human Resources department and the university as a whole.
