Recruiting and Retention sources, recruits, screens, interviews, and recommends internal and external candidates for positions at all levels. Places employment ads in appropriate sources, ensures the maintenance of accurate and concise records, and reports concerning all phases of the recruitment process.

Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.
G - General Administration

Position Summary

The General Supervisor within Recruiting and Retention plays a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the recruitment team within the human resources department. This position involves managing and coordinating the activities of administrative and technical staff to ensure efficient recruitment processes. The supervisor is responsible for guiding the team in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and recommending candidates for various positions at the university. Additionally, the supervisor ensures that job advertisements are effectively placed, records are meticulously maintained, and all phases of the recruitment process are documented accurately. As a supervisory role, this position includes direct oversight of the recruitment team, including coordinating schedules, setting priorities, and ensuring that tasks are completed within the established timeframes. The General Supervisor is also accountable for ensuring that team members receive proper orientation, training, and ongoing support to effectively perform their duties. By providing leadership and direction, the supervisor helps ensure that recruitment goals are met and that the university attracts and retains top talent. The General Supervisor within Recruiting and Retention is expected to provide regular feedback and guidance to team members, manage their performance, and address any issues or challenges that arise during the recruitment process. This role requires experience in human resources and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively. The supervisor will collaborate closely with other HR professionals to ensure that recruitment efforts align with the university’s broader goals and that the process is compliant with university policies and legal regulations.
