Position Summary

The Technical Manager within System Development is responsible for leading a team of professionals engaged in the design, development, and maintenance of IT systems. This role requires overseeing the day-to-day operations of system development projects, ensuring the team adheres to established standards for performance, security, and system stability. The Technical Manager works closely with both technical staff and leadership to execute system development strategies, aligning team efforts with organizational goals and ensuring the effective integration of new technologies and processes. In addition to managing team performance and workflow, the Technical Manager is responsible for strategic planning and execution within the system development function. This includes defining project scopes, allocating resources, and ensuring that deadlines are met. The manager also plays a critical role in guiding the development of complex IT systems, maintaining the security and integrity of data, and driving efforts to transition from legacy systems to modern solutions. The Technical Manager serves as the key point of escalation for technical issues and ensures that all projects are delivered with the required quality and efficiency. As a Manager, this position also handles significant administrative responsibilities, including overseeing the hiring process, conducting performance evaluations, and making decisions on promotions or terminations. The Technical Manager is tasked with fostering a positive and productive team environment by providing leadership and mentoring to team members. They ensure the team has the necessary resources and training to succeed while maintaining accountability for the team's overall performance. By managing both technical projects and personnel, the Technical Manager ensures the continued success and operational effectiveness of the system development function within the organization.
