Plans and delivers faculty development in response to faculty and institutional needs in a variety of formats including individual coaching, seminars, and workshops on the effective use of technology

They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Supervisor: Supervises experienced administrative, operative, and/or technical roles. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team. Focuses on team completion of assignments and is responsible for ensuring the orientation and training of employees.

Position Summary

The Technical Supervisor within Educational Technology is responsible for overseeing a team of technical professionals who support the effective use of technology in teaching and learning environments. This role involves coordinating team efforts to ensure that faculty and staff are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to integrate technology into their courses. The supervisor will manage the daily workflow, set priorities, and ensure timely completion of tasks and projects. They will also be responsible for the training and professional development of team members, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest trends in educational technology. In addition to managing the team, the Technical Supervisor plays a critical role in the implementation and maintenance of educational technology systems. This includes collaborating with other departments to ensure systems are functioning properly, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth delivery of services. The supervisor is responsible for providing technical guidance and support, assisting in the planning and delivery of faculty development programs, and ensuring that all systems and platforms meet the needs of faculty and students. They will also oversee the evaluation of educational technology services and recommend improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness of these tools. The Technical Supervisor ensures that operational goals are met by maintaining a focus on high-quality service delivery. They are accountable for managing schedules, setting objectives for the team, and fostering a collaborative environment to meet institutional educational technology goals. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as the supervisor must engage with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of technology adoption across the institution. The Technical Supervisor will also assist in developing policies and procedures for the department, ensuring efficient and effective use of educational technology resources across the university.
