Instructional Design analyzes, designs, develops, and implements online courses, web-based training, and face-to-face training curriculum. Analyzes learner needs and collaborates with subject matter experts and business management and provides input for course content.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Technical Executive within Instructional Design plays a key leadership role in overseeing the strategic direction and execution of instructional design initiatives across the university. This position is responsible for driving the development and implementation of innovative learning experiences, including online courses, web-based training, and face-to-face curriculum. The executive will ensure that instructional materials are designed to meet the evolving needs of students and faculty while aligning with institutional goals. Additionally, they will provide high-level guidance on integrating new technologies and systems into the instructional design process, ensuring the use of leading-edge educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes. In this role, the Associate Technical Executive will lead a team of instructional designers and collaborate with faculty, subject matter experts, and other university departments to ensure that courses and training programs are effectively aligned with both pedagogical best practices and university-wide strategic priorities. They will oversee the development of training materials and programs that support the adoption of integrated information systems and technology, which in turn enhances both administrative and management outcomes. The executive will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional materials, utilizing feedback from stakeholders to inform continuous improvement efforts. The Associate Technical Executive is accountable for the operational success of instructional design projects, ensuring that goals and objectives are met within specified timelines and budgets. They will oversee the performance of multiple teams and collaborate with senior leadership to set the strategic direction for instructional design initiatives. By fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration, this role contributes to the overall development and success of the university’s educational technology landscape, impacting student engagement and academic achievement across the institution. Additionally, the executive will play a role in policy development and provide recommendations for best practices in instructional design and technology integration.
