Position Summary

The Technical Manager within Instructional Design is responsible for overseeing a team of instructional designers and technical specialists to create and deliver high-quality educational materials, both online and in-person. This role involves managing the development and implementation of instructional technologies, ensuring that the systems, tools, and content align with institutional learning objectives and technology standards. The manager leads the planning, execution, and evaluation of instructional design projects, ensuring that the team produces content that enhances the learner experience while integrating the latest technologies and instructional methodologies. As a leader, the Technical Manager provides day-to-day supervision and strategic direction for the instructional design team, ensuring that tasks are executed efficiently and in alignment with organizational goals. This includes conducting performance evaluations, offering feedback, and supporting the professional growth and development of team members. The manager is responsible for resource allocation, establishing project timelines, and ensuring that all instructional design efforts meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and innovation. Additionally, they collaborate with other departments to ensure that instructional solutions are seamlessly integrated with other technology and training systems within the organization. The Technical Manager also plays a key role in continuously assessing and improving the processes and tools used by the instructional design team. They drive the adoption of new technologies and instructional strategies, seeking opportunities for optimization and improvement. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to guide the team through the challenges of developing and maintaining effective educational programs. The Technical Manager's leadership and decisions directly influence the success of instructional design initiatives, supporting the organization's mission to deliver cutting-edge educational experiences.
