Position Summary

The Architect within IT Service Management plays a key role in the design and development of comprehensive IT service offerings that meet the strategic and operational needs of the university. This position requires an advanced level of expertise in IT infrastructure and service management to architect and implement complex solutions that align with both current and future technological requirements. The Architect will be responsible for defining the technical direction for IT service management, ensuring the integration of industry best practices, and developing scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that enhance the overall IT service delivery framework. The Architect is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of IT service management processes across the organization, ensuring seamless service delivery that supports the university’s academic and administrative functions. This includes overseeing key service management components, such as incident management, change management, problem management, and service request fulfillment. The Architect also plays a crucial role in identifying and adopting new technologies and methodologies to continually improve service delivery. They are expected to collaborate with senior leadership, technical teams, and business units to align service management strategies with the university's broader goals and IT infrastructure requirements. As an individual contributor at an advanced level, the Architect within IT Service Management works with a high degree of autonomy, providing leadership and mentorship to team members and influencing the strategic direction of service management practices. The role requires the Architect to remain at the forefront of emerging technologies, ensuring that the university’s IT service management framework stays innovative and capable of addressing evolving challenges. The Architect is expected to offer expert guidance, contribute to setting long-term goals, and lead complex initiatives that require deep technical knowledge, critical thinking, and strategic planning to advance IT service management practices across the university.
