Position Summary

The Senior Analyst within Desktop Support plays a critical role in providing advanced technical support for desktop hardware and software systems to faculty, staff, students, and university stakeholders. This position is responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, performing system configurations, software installations, and upgrades, as well as providing troubleshooting for hardware malfunctions. Senior Analysts are expected to handle more complex service requests, provide expert-level support, and act as a resource for junior team members, offering guidance and training when needed. In this role, the Senior Analyst works independently and is responsible for ensuring that desktop systems are maintained and functioning optimally. They handle escalated issues, manage critical service incidents, and collaborate with other IT teams to resolve system-wide problems. Additionally, the Senior Analyst identifies and implements improvements to existing desktop systems and support processes, contributing to a more efficient and streamlined support model. They must stay current with emerging technologies and trends to ensure the university's desktop infrastructure remains competitive and secure. A Senior Analyst within Desktop Support is an experienced professional who works autonomously while also providing leadership to other team members. This position requires not only strong technical skills but also the ability to effectively communicate with users and stakeholders. Senior Analysts often take the lead on troubleshooting high-impact issues, managing complex projects, and overseeing the training and development of junior staff. The role is crucial for ensuring that desktop systems across the university are consistently supported and maintained, with a focus on providing high-quality, timely service to all users.
