Position Summary

The Senior Analyst within Network Architecture is responsible for designing, evaluating, and optimizing the university’s network systems to ensure they meet the institution’s current and future needs. This role involves conducting in-depth research and applying engineering principles to develop network architectures that support various components such as switches, routers, firewalls, cloud integrations, and telecommunication systems. The Senior Analyst works closely with other IT teams to ensure the design and implementation of network solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with the university’s goals for performance and security. In this individual contributor role, the Senior Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex network challenges and providing solutions that enhance the overall infrastructure. They work independently to evaluate new technologies, conduct network assessments, and identify areas for improvement. The Senior Analyst ensures the effective integration of hardware and software components, participates in planning and design processes, and supports the transition from legacy systems to modern solutions. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to independently manage intricate network architecture projects. While primarily an individual contributor, the Senior Analyst also provides mentorship to junior team members and may lead smaller projects or initiatives within the Network Architecture team. They collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior technical staff and leadership, to align network designs with the institution’s strategic objectives. The Senior Analyst plays a critical role in enhancing the network infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, reliable, and capable of supporting the university’s diverse communication and data needs. Through their expertise and leadership, the Senior Analyst contributes to the long-term success and resilience of the university’s network systems.
