Position Summary

The Technical Manager within Network Architecture leads the design, development, and optimization of the university’s network systems to ensure a robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure. This role is responsible for managing a team of network professionals who plan and implement complex architecture solutions across campus environments. The manager plays a critical role in aligning network architecture with institutional objectives, supporting high-speed data, voice, and video communications to meet academic, research, and administrative needs. This position oversees the research and evaluation of emerging technologies and engineering approaches to continuously improve the university’s network infrastructure. The Technical Manager ensures that network designs incorporate best practices for performance, resiliency, and cybersecurity, while also maintaining compatibility with existing systems and future needs. The manager collaborates with IT leadership, vendors, and campus stakeholders to execute architecture strategies, manage project timelines, and ensure compliance with technical standards and policies. As a leader at the managerial level, the Technical Manager is accountable for the performance and development of the network architecture team. Responsibilities include supervising personnel, managing budgets, setting priorities, and ensuring the successful execution of departmental goals. The manager fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, enabling the university’s network architecture to support cutting-edge teaching, learning, and research in a secure and reliable environment.
