Network and Telecommunication Services is responsible for the daily administration and management of network and telecommunications components, including network switches, routers, firewalls, proxies, operating systems, infrastructure applications, appliances, and cloud integration. Manages voice, data, and video communication systems throughout the university, analyzing and resolving issues with communication programs.

Position Summary

The Analyst within Network and Telecommunication Services supports the ongoing operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the university’s network and communications infrastructure. This position assists in the management of core components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and voice and video communication systems. Working as part of a team, the analyst helps ensure the stability and performance of services that support data, voice, and video connectivity across campus, contributing to the university’s broader IT mission. The analyst plays a key role in supporting network and telecommunications projects by assisting with device configuration, system testing, documentation, and troubleshooting. This role works closely with senior team members to analyze technical issues, respond to service requests, and implement routine updates or improvements to communication systems. The analyst also contributes to cloud service integrations and infrastructure application support, ensuring that systems function efficiently and securely within established protocols. As an individual contributor, the analyst collaborates with colleagues across IT and university departments to ensure timely and effective support. The position requires foundational technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and apply new skills. While the analyst works under general supervision, they are expected to take initiative on assigned tasks, contribute to the team’s goals, and support a reliable and secure network and telecommunications environment that enables university operations and academic success.
