Position Summary

The Technical Manager within User Interface Design is responsible for leading and overseeing a team of user interface designers, ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for software solutions. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise and leadership, as the manager will be responsible for setting goals, allocating resources, and driving the team to meet deadlines and project objectives. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure that user interface designs align with business needs and user requirements. In this role, the Technical Manager will be accountable for the performance and productivity of the design team. They will oversee the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of team members, providing ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities. The manager will establish clear workflows, provide constructive feedback, and ensure that the team follows best practices in user-centered design, usability testing, and iterative development. Additionally, the Technical Manager will monitor industry trends, recommending and implementing new tools or techniques to enhance design processes and outcomes. The Technical Manager will also be a key decision-maker in shaping the strategic direction of the User Interface Design department. They will work closely with senior leadership to define long-term goals and priorities, ensuring that the team’s work supports broader organizational objectives. The manager will drive continuous improvement in both design quality and operational efficiency, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. They will be instrumental in ensuring that the user interface design process is integrated smoothly with the development lifecycle and that designs are delivered on time and within scope.
