Compliance Services ensures the universitys compliance with regulatory and quality standards and fosters a culture of integrity. Works with colleges and units to develop and implement internal controls, processes, and programs that access and enhance compliance. May engage with regulatory commissions and authorities or advance university positions with external and internal stakeholders.
Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate General Executive within Compliance Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and execution of the university’s compliance program. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the university meets all regulatory and quality standards while fostering a culture of integrity across the institution. The Associate General Executive works closely with senior leadership to develop and implement policies, internal controls, and compliance programs that address and enhance the university’s adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. The role involves actively engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks. In this role, the Associate General Executive is responsible for leading the development and execution of compliance strategies across the university’s diverse operations, with direct oversight of multiple directors and managers within the Compliance Services unit. This individual collaborates with various colleges, departments, and administrative units to establish, monitor, and improve compliance processes and controls. They also play a crucial role in advancing the university’s position on compliance-related matters, representing the institution in discussions with regulatory commissions, government agencies, and other key stakeholders. The Associate General Executive ensures that compliance activities align with the university’s broader strategic goals and contribute to institutional success. As part of their leadership responsibilities, the Associate General Executive sets and manages the execution of annual goals and objectives for the Compliance Services team, ensuring that these goals are operationalized effectively. The role includes overseeing budget allocation, resource management, and performance evaluations for staff, while also recommending and, when necessary, approving policy changes related to compliance. This position requires an experienced executive who can provide strategic oversight, inspire teamwork, and implement practical solutions to ensure compliance across the university. With a broad scope of responsibility, the Associate General Executive helps to shape the university’s approach to risk management, regulatory compliance, and ethical conduct, directly impacting the institution’s overall reputation and operational success.
