Affirmative Action is responsible for the universitys affirmative action programs, which include implementing audit programs to ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity laws and affirmative action regulations.

Position Summary

The General Coordinator within Affirmative Action plays a crucial role in supporting the university's affirmative action programs, ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity laws and affirmative action regulations. This position focuses on assisting with the implementation and coordination of programs designed to promote diversity and inclusion within the university's hiring and employment practices. The General Coordinator works closely with the Affirmative Action team to manage audit programs, track compliance metrics, and assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve representation and accessibility across university departments. In this role, the General Coordinator will assist with collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data related to the university's employment practices, helping to identify areas where affirmative action goals can be further met. They will support the development of reports and documents required for both internal and external audits and compliance reviews, ensuring the university remains aligned with all relevant legal requirements. Additionally, the General Coordinator helps to track recruitment efforts and outreach activities aimed at ensuring equal employment opportunities for underrepresented groups in accordance with affirmative action policies. Working collaboratively with departments across the university, the General Coordinator provides administrative support for affirmative action initiatives, including organizing training sessions, meetings, and communications regarding equal opportunity efforts. They are responsible for assisting in the coordination of outreach strategies, conducting research on best practices, and providing recommendations for improving the university’s affirmative action programs. This position requires a thorough understanding of compliance guidelines and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace environment, contributing to the overall mission of equity and accessibility at the university.
