General Supervisor, Investigations

Investigations conducts prompt and thorough Title IX and civil rights investigations including detailed and impartial investigation reports. Provides supportive measures to individuals experiencing gender-based violence and harassment.

Position Summary

The General Supervisor within Investigations plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the investigations team, ensuring that Title IX and civil rights investigations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position involves coordinating the workflow and schedules of investigation staff, providing supervision and guidance to ensure that investigations are thorough, unbiased, and completed in a timely manner. The General Supervisor also works closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure that all investigations comply with relevant legal standards and university policies, ensuring that the institution maintains its commitment to a safe and non-discriminatory environment. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the General Supervisor is responsible for training and developing investigative staff, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle sensitive cases related to gender-based violence, harassment, and discrimination. The role involves providing ongoing support and mentorship to staff, addressing any challenges that arise during investigations, and ensuring that team members have the resources and knowledge necessary to carry out their roles effectively. The General Supervisor also ensures that all case documentation is properly maintained, contributing to accurate and thorough reporting. As a key part of the management team, the General Supervisor is accountable for team performance, including setting goals, monitoring progress, and addressing any performance issues. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of investigative processes and legal requirements. The General Supervisor must be able to handle complex, confidential cases with sensitivity and professionalism while ensuring that investigations are conducted fairly, with integrity, and in accordance with university policies and applicable laws. The position is central to maintaining a respectful and compliant campus environment.
