Digitization is responsible for digitization of collections in a wide range of formats. Enables appropriate management and stewardship of digital objects to promote accessibility that meet continually evolving standards and specifications for imaging and related metadata creation. May include contributions to overall digitization strategy and policies.

Position Summary

The Analyst within Digitization plays a critical role in supporting the technical aspects of the digitization of library collections. The primary responsibility is to assist in the transformation of physical materials into accessible digital formats that meet established imaging and metadata standards. This position involves applying knowledge of digital technologies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of digitized objects. The Analyst will also help maintain the digital infrastructure, ensuring the long-term accessibility and usability of digital assets in alignment with best practices in digitization. In addition to technical tasks, the Analyst will assist in analyzing and evaluating digitization workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and suggesting solutions to enhance efficiency. This role also involves supporting the creation of metadata and ensuring that digitized materials are cataloged correctly for future use and reference. The Analyst will work closely with other members of the digitization team, including technical specialists and librarians, to implement digitization policies, maintain quality control, and ensure that digitized materials are preserved according to industry standards. While this is an intermediate-level position, the Analyst is expected to demonstrate a solid understanding of digitization technologies, standards, and tools, although they may not yet operate fully independently. The role allows for the development of advanced skills, with opportunities to take on greater responsibilities and contribute to the strategic planning of digitization efforts within the Library Services team. The position offers a chance to work both collaboratively and autonomously, gaining valuable expertise in digital collections management while supporting the overall goals of library services.
