The principal purpose of federal and non-federal contracts is to purchase property or services for the direct benefit or use of the US Government.

Position Summary

The Senior General Coordinator within Federal and Non-Federal Contracts plays a critical role in overseeing the coordination, negotiation, and management of government-related contracts, both federal and non-federal, that support the university’s research programs. This individual contributor position is responsible for ensuring that all contracts, which serve as procurement mechanisms for the direct benefit or use of the U.S. government, are processed in compliance with legal, regulatory, and institutional standards. The Senior General Coordinator works closely with university researchers, government agencies, and external partners to ensure that contractual agreements are structured appropriately to meet the needs of the university’s research initiatives while adhering to government requirements. In this role, the Senior General Coordinator reviews and drafts federal and non-federal contracts, ensuring they accurately reflect the scope of work, pricing, and compliance stipulations. They are responsible for managing the lifecycle of these contracts from initiation through execution, amendment, and closure. They provide expert guidance on the intricacies of federal procurement processes, helping researchers and faculty navigate the complexities of government contracts. The Senior General Coordinator also serves as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external government agencies, ensuring effective communication and resolution of any issues that arise throughout the contract process. As a senior-level individual contributor, the Senior General Coordinator operates with a high degree of independence, using their experience and expertise to manage complex contractual agreements. While they do not have direct supervisory responsibilities, they may provide mentorship or guidance to less experienced staff and colleagues. This position requires advanced knowledge of federal procurement rules and regulations, a strong understanding of research-focused contract structures, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority contracts simultaneously. By ensuring that federal and non-federal contracts are efficiently and accurately executed, the Senior General Coordinator helps to support the university’s strategic research goals and ensures the university is fully compliant with government regulations.
