Position Summary

The Academic Supervisor within Academic Affairs plays a critical role in overseeing the operational aspects of various academic support services, ensuring that teams are effectively coordinating and implementing programs to support students’ academic and personal growth. This role is responsible for managing a team of academic advisors, tutors, and other academic support staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the resources, training, and guidance necessary to deliver quality student services. The Academic Supervisor ensures that day-to-day operations align with the university’s strategic goals and enhances the overall student experience through effective academic support. In this position, the Academic Supervisor handles various administrative responsibilities, including scheduling, workflow management, and ensuring that team members meet performance goals. The role also involves supervising the development and implementation of academic programs such as tutoring services, first-year experience programs, and academic advising. Additionally, the supervisor ensures that staff are trained, motivated, and continually improving through regular evaluations and feedback. By creating a productive and positive work environment, the Academic Supervisor ensures the smooth running of academic services that directly impact students' success and engagement. As a manager within Academic Affairs, the Academic Supervisor takes on a leadership role, with direct responsibility for monitoring and improving team performance. This includes ensuring high standards in delivering academic support services and managing administrative tasks such as scheduling, orientation, and training for new team members. The Academic Supervisor fosters a collaborative environment and addresses any performance or procedural issues promptly.
