Position Summary

The Academic Director within Academic Affairs plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and directing the various academic programs and services that support student success across the university. This position is responsible for managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic initiatives, including programs like first-year experience, tutoring services, learning centers, and academic workshops. The Academic Director ensures these programs are aligned with institutional goals and contribute effectively to student engagement, learning outcomes, and overall academic success. In this leadership capacity, the Academic Director is responsible for setting strategic goals and overseeing the allocation of resources across multiple units within Academic Affairs. They collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and implement university-wide academic strategies, ensuring the seamless integration of student services and academic support. This role includes overseeing program budgets, staffing, and planning efforts, with a focus on continuous improvement, quality assurance, and maximizing the impact of academic services to meet student needs. The Academic Director also serves as a key decision-maker, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and vision. The Academic Director leads a team of academic professionals and staff, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance team performance and productivity. They are responsible for supervising staff, evaluating performance, and ensuring that the department's strategic initiatives are carried out effectively. This role also involves maintaining strong relationships with other departments, academic leaders, and external stakeholders to support collaboration and achieve broader institutional goals. The Academic Director is a vital member of the leadership team, contributing to the university's efforts to create a supportive and enriching academic environment for students.
