Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 2
Executive: Has senior-level leadership responsibilities for major unit operations. Establishes and implements policies, procedures, programs, fiscal authority, and operational autonomy. Leads department heads, chairs, school directors, directors, senior managers, and managers. Scope of responsibility is university wide for an overall college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Academic Executive within Admissions plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and guiding the strategic direction of the university's admissions operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of admissions strategies that support the university's overall enrollment goals. The Academic Executive leads a team of senior managers and directors in evaluating and processing new student admissions, ensuring the processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with the institution’s mission. This leadership role also involves collaborating with other university leaders to enhance recruitment strategies, ensuring that admissions practices are competitive and reflective of the university's academic standards and diversity goals. In this executive capacity, the Academic Executive establishes and implements policies, procedures, and programs that govern the admissions process, from recruitment to enrollment. They have fiscal authority and operational autonomy to ensure resources are used effectively to meet enrollment targets. The Academic Executive plays a key role in developing and maintaining partnerships with high schools, community colleges, and other organizations to promote the university and attract top talent. This role also includes regular analysis of trends in higher education and student demographics to inform and adjust recruitment strategies and admissions criteria in response to shifting needs. As part of the senior leadership team, the Academic Executive provides oversight and leadership to admissions staff and department heads, ensuring high standards of performance, productivity, and customer service. They are responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centered culture within the admissions office, driving continuous improvements in efficiency and innovation. The Academic Executive also collaborates closely with other divisions, such as financial aid, student services, and academic affairs, to create a seamless experience for prospective students from the application process through enrollment. Their leadership directly impacts the university’s ability to attract, admit, and retain students, thus influencing the long-term success and growth of the institution.
