Position Summary

The Academic Director within Admissions is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the admissions department, ensuring alignment with the university's enrollment goals. This leadership role involves the management of multiple units within Admissions, including recruitment, evaluation, and processing of student applications. The Academic Director works closely with Enrollment Services to design and implement recruitment strategies that attract a diverse and qualified student body. They play a central role in setting long-term goals, managing budgets, and optimizing the admissions process to enhance both operational efficiency and the student experience. The Academic Director provides high-level leadership and oversight, ensuring that admissions staff are trained, supported, and held accountable for achieving departmental objectives. This includes collaborating with other academic and administrative units to ensure a smooth transition for students from application to enrollment. The Director is responsible for driving innovation in recruitment and admissions practices, using data and feedback to inform decision-making, and continuously improving services to prospective students. They also monitor the performance of the admissions team, ensuring the department operates within established budgets and that policies and procedures are adhered to consistently. In addition to managing internal operations, the Academic Director serves as a key advisor to executive leadership, contributing to the development of university-wide strategic initiatives. They provide input on policy development and strategic direction for Enrollment Services and Admissions, ensuring alignment with the university's broader goals. The Director also leads and supports the admissions team in achieving measurable outcomes, such as application volume, acceptance rates, and enrollment goals. Their leadership has a significant impact on the overall success of the university’s enrollment efforts, directly influencing institutional growth and student diversity.
